3992J earned its nickname due to the fact Don Maclean was an avid wearer of this watch. So much so, that when he died, his personal 3227J was auctioned off in a 'Life & Careeer of Don Maclean' thematic auction. If thats not enough, certainly the open dial with its lack of date or seconds sub-dial gives this dial a look and feel that resembles a pie-pan.
Calatrava Automatic Ref. 3992J was first offered in 1988 and discontinued in 2000. As the self-winding hobnail alternative to the manual ref. 3919, the ref. 3992J features Patek's Automatic Caliber 240.
