Breguet has long been considered the watchmaker to the world's elite. The first Breguet pieces were crafted by the man himself, Abraham Louis Breguet in 1775. He is credited with some of the first solutions to watchmaking's most pressing issues. He invented the gong spring for chiming watches, a self-winding solution for pocket watches, a ratcheted winding key, the first-ever wrist watch, and his most famous invention: the Tourbillon.
The Breguet client list is a who's who of leaders and influencers throughout history: Napoleon, Marie-Antoinette, Caroline (Queen of Naples), Winston Churhill, Honore de Balzac, Alexandre Dumas, and Victor Hugo among countless others.
