Seiko PROSPEX Marinemaster Professional 1000m Emperor Tuna SBDX014

The Story Behind This Seiko Prospex

This is an INDISTINGUISHABLE from NEW Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1000m Emperor Tuna.  The 48mm titanium case houses an in-house automatic Seiko movement.  The case is further supported by a black ceramic outer case shroud.  The bezel is also made of the same black ceramic as the outer shroud.  The rose gold plated accents give the piece an overall sense of warmth that does not exist on other Prospex models.  This watch ships COMPLETE.  It includes its original box that has a numbers matching sticker, the undated warranty card, instruction and after sales booklets, and the Seiko hangtag!

Why We Love This Seiko Prospex

Sometimes, it is nice to see an ultra beefy, purpose built tool watch.  This Seiko is definitely one of those types of watches.  The case was designed from the beginning to be impervious to helium, thus eliminating the need for an escape valve.  As a result of this case within a case design, the watch must be assembled from the top (earning its nickname: the Tuna can).  One major improvement is the inclusion of ceramic for the outer case (previously black coated Titanium).  The design has remained consistent through the years, but the original felt a bit locked into 1970s design.  This gives this Emperor Tuna a throwback feel without it being overly vintage.
