The Story Behind This Panerai Radiomir

Officine Panerai has quietly gone about making some of the most reliable mechanical instruments for divers (military and civilian) since 1860.  They have lead the way in luminous materials, case treatments, and practically invented the left handed watch for the broader market.  Since 2005, they have been manufacturing their own movements as well.  This watch uses the iconic Radiomir case in a massive 48mm size, crafted from platinum!  The in-house P.2005 movement houses a 30 second tourbillon (2 full rotations per minute) at 11 o'clock, with a 12 Hour GMT (something Panerai has kind of cornered the market on), AM/PM indicator at 3 o'clock, small seconds, and a power reserve indicator on the back.   This amazing movement chooses not to display the tourbillon on the dial side, but rather discreetly indicate its movement using an indicator inside of the 9 o'clock subdial (the blue dot rotates at 2x per minute, matching the speed of the tourbillon).  It is secured to the wrist with a black large scale alligator strap.  

This is one of the 75 examples made for the world and is in New Old Stock condition.  This piece was purchased brand new directly from an authorized retailer when it was initially released and never worn!  This amazing watch has spent its entire life in a literal fortress, only to removed from its vault for admiration!  This watch is also a full Time CAPSULE: complete with all of its original contents like the boxset, documentation, and hangtag.
