Purchased brand new from a well known Panerai AD by our very meticulous collector client in 20XX, This watch has literally spent its life in a fortress. this piece new directly from an authorized retailer when it was initially released and never worn! This watch is a full Time CAPSULE: complete down to tthe tiniest details like Certificates, Booklets, hangtags Warranty Certifcate, absolutely everything as purchased brand new.
This watch has never been worn as evidenced by the factory applied protective stickers, wraps and hang tags still attached to the watch, strap and buckle!. We are not exaggerating when we say this watch has never been on a human wrist!
This PAM 306 Tourbillon GMT is a (shh.. It’s a Secret!) Tourbillon and as such, its magical Tourbillon complication is hidden from those not worthy of seeing it. Its only viewable through the full sapphire exhibition caseback.
A view through the caseback reveals:
Gyroscopic Tourbillon - The way the Gyroscope moves it looks like the cage is going to magically jump through the sapphire caseback as it makes its 2x per minute rotations. (Watching the spinning tourbillon cage is akin to admiring tropical fish in a fishtank; its soothing and comforting and guaranteed to lower your blood pressure!) Its almost as if you can feel the vibrations coming off the gyroscopic tourbillon as it makes it 2x per minute rotations.
6-Days Power Reserve Indicator - Beside the Tourbillon complication is a neatly carved out 6-Days Power Reserve Indicator w strikingly orange/gold DAYS 2-6 and a luminous blued steel hand – so you can see it in the dark!!
The Face of an Angel: In true and original 47mm Luminor Style (We are talking the style of the original 1950's, the PAM 127 and PAM 203) , the dial is bold, easy to read and uncluttered! Gold (with a tinge of orange) Luminous hands complement the dark tobacco brown dial which features the famous Panerai "sandwich" construction (the dial is two layers: a fully luminous base layer and the dial with cut out markings on top).
This watch has a GMT complication and whats really cool is becase of the design, the extra GMT Hour hand can be hidden behind the central hour hand (when not travelling or looking for less hands) and it will synchronomize with the central hour hand. Or set the GMT hand to track a second time zone and corresponding AM/PM indicator dial at 9:00.
There are 2 indications which share real estate on the 9:00 sub dial. There is a constant 60 seconds hand and inside of the sub-dial there is a luminous dot that is tied to the tourbillon’s rotation and makes 2 revolutions every 60 seconds! (so it moves in double time!!)
