Luminor 1950 Regatta 3 Days Chrono Flyback - Automatic Movement
This watch has a current retail of $17,200
This is part of Panerai's Yachting Timer Series; Rolex has their Yacht-Master II, Panerai has their Regatta Chrono Flyback - Same functionality (for the most part)
The 'Regatta Chrono Flyback' complication combines a traditional chronograph with a countdown timer function. Its that simple but technically (and under the dial) very complex!
There are 3 buttons for the chronograph (side of watch at 4:00, 8:00 and 10:00). Pushing the button at 4:00 will move the timer hand (bold and nicely contrasting WHITE) in a counter-clockwise direction (counting down from 60) to time an interval up to 59 minutes. When the chronograph is started, the timer hand moves clockwise towards 12:00 and that is how you know when your time is up.
The button at 8:00 stops the chronograph (and timer hand); the button at 10:00 resets the chronograph and resets timer hand back to 12. It seems complicated but is very intuitive after you have played with it for a few minutes! (lets see whos paying attentions.....'Haha that's what she said last night!!!')
