Rare YELLOW Dial
There are a number of versions of the Breitling Emergency, this is the Original Digital/Analog Version with 43mm Titanium Case and Titanium Bracelet.
The Novelty (and namesake) of the Breitling Emergency Watch is its Emergency Beacon. Unscrewing the cap at 4:00 on side of watch enables access to a retractable antenna which when pulled out, activates the miniaturized transmitter inside the watch. This transmitter broadcasts an emergency distress signal on 121.5 MHz aviation distress frequency. When purchased new from your Breitling dealer, you were required as 'Condition of Sale' to register this watch with your drivers license and agree to stiff fines if the beacon was activated in a non-emergency situation. That is no longer applicable as Monitoring for emergency distress signals on The 121.5 Mhz channel has been discontinued. The Test Receiver box is included to allow you to confirm the transmitter is still working without activating the beacon. When you place your watch on the test receiver box and turn the test receiver on, you will hear a sound signal every 2.25 seconds to confirm the transmitter is working correctly.
