The Story Behind This Breitling Crosswind Special
This is an indistinguishable from new Breitling Crosswind Special. The 43.7mm polished steel case houses a mechanical automatic chronograph with a big date complication. It features a white dial with metallic silver subdials. It is completed by an original Breitling strap and polished steel tang buckle. Our client rarely wore this watch (as it was part of a large collection) and it remained in indistinguishable from new condition.
Why we love the Breitling Crosswind Special
Starting with the relaunch of the Chronomat back in the 1980s, certain parts of Breitling's collection shared a lot of visual similarities. This made it difficult to distinguish one model from another. In the case of the Crosswind Special, Breitling strived to make a watch that was different, and with a little personality. The big date is a favorite complication around SecondTime, due to the legibility of a centrally placed, two window date. The metallic subdials gives a subtle contrast to the white dial (a lot more subtle then, say, black subdials) and ties the case color into the dial.
