This is a lightly and carefully worn example of the Breguet 250th Anniversary Regulator in 18k White Gold. It features a 36mm white gold case with soldered lugs and coin edge engraving around the mid case. The dial is finished in Breguet signature rose engine guilloche with a breguet-style regulator hand, and the watch number directly on the dial. This piece was released in 1997 to mark the 250th birthday of the man himself. The case back lists some of the brands most celebrated names: including Napoléon Bonaparte, Louis XVI, Sir Winston Churchill and Marie Antoinette – just to name a few names painstakingly engraved on case back.
Abraham Louis Breguet was the watchmaker to the stars of late 18th and early 19th centuries. His clients ranked among the most revered and respected members of the community. This trickled down to future generations, with Breguet being among the timepieces of choice for the elite. While researching this watch, we were unable to discover any other ref. 1747 for sale and we believe the piece to be produced in approximately 125 white gold examples.
